Strata - Wood Phone Case

Bold, sleek, and quietly impressive, the Strata is a study in stacked wood. The whole back of the case is layered like geological strata, narrow bands of six different woods running across it, light to dark and warm to cool, so it reads as one rich, banded surface rather than a single tone.

The bands cycle through six real species: pale maple, reddish sapele, fiery orange padauk, warm cherry, mid-brown walnut, and near-black wenge. Each strip keeps its own grain and color, so up close you can pick out the individual woods, while from a step back they blur into a layered, sedimentary pattern. It's essentially a sampler of the woods we work with, all on one case. Because every band is real wood, the grain in each one falls differently on every piece, so no two Stratas line up exactly the same.

Each Strata is built by hand in our Mississauga workshop, and it's one of the more involved cases we make. Every veneer is finished before it's laser-cut into strips, and the bands are then fitted together and pressed flush to the case back, layer by layer. Available for all current iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models, with integrated MagSafe magnets and a soft microfiber interior lining on iPhone 13 and newer.
