Walnut Pure - iPhone 15

Wish I could love it, but what's shown and what's in hand don't compare.

I initially bought this case for my 16 pro max, I fell in love with the design and images shown and couldn't wait to get the case.

I purchased a temporary "carve it" wood veneer case on Amazon as a placeholder until this arrived, when it did I was surprised to see that the case was thin, bendable, and easy to fold in on itself.

While the walnut initially looked attractive in the box, when in hand and front of me I found the wood veneer used on these cases is super thin, it's flat and flush with the rubber case itself allowing the case to fold in on itself with the slightest of bend - wood veneer itself feels like touching a piece of plastic, it just looks and feels like wood vinyl flooring.

With how thin the veneers used on these cases are the wood looks, feels, and presents plastic and fake up close, arguably from a distance you couldn't tell.

In its defense: from afar it's attractive, it's lightweight, and the mag safe works well, but it's not thick or protective enough - It feels in hand and looks in person up close, flimsy, and cheap.

I wound up going back to the Amazon "carve it" wood case for half the price; it has nearly twice as thick rubber, an engraved and significantly thicker wood veneer that prevents you from bending or folding the case entirely in on itself and it looks and feels in person significantly superior, especially when it comes to the wood, it's appearances/grain feel are superior, the wood itself is raised and beveled downward to match the case, if you tap on it, it sounds like wood, not plastic and it offers engraved images or blank faces as options, it's heftier and the wood used looks genuine and not like a wood vinyl floor tile.

I don't mean to leave a horrible review and I hope what said here can be used to improve the product, but after hyping myself out over past reviews for older iPhone releases and surprisingly finding myself using a less expensive aftermarket case that's somehow superior, I figured I'd write a review for others for once.

If it wouldn't be a hassle to return this I would, I was super excited about this purchase and completely surprised by how things turned out.

Thank you for all the feedback, we appreciate the time you took to write a detailed review! While we can understand the desire for a thicker, more 'raw' feeling wood backer, we actually specifically wanted to avoid this and have spent a lot of time matching up a resilient wood finish with the right type of wood veneers. The reason for this is moisture-related warping. Way back when Keyway started in 2012, we used to use thicker wood but found is nearly impossible to protect the thicker wood with a thick enough coating to prevent warping when they got a little bit wet on one side (sweaty pocket or a wet table). We certainly understand that this may not be the right choice for everyone though and would like to say thank you for giving Keyway a try!

Love It!

I have had my new phone cover in daily use for over a month now. It still looks like new and works great!
I wish the volume button was more prominent, but that's just me. It works great as it is.

The power button presses down almost too easily making it easy to accidentally press it if you hold the phone a little bit off
